Fishing in New Zealand is an angler’s El Dorado. The average fish size is legendary. Fish populations are healthy and well managed. New Zealand’s pristine environment mean the water runs gin clear, weather permitting. A vast majority of the fishing is stalking and casting to sighted trout. The Ngongotaha and surrounding rivers hold high numbers of both Rainbow and Brown trout. Whether a beginner or veteran, a New Zealand fishing guide can help spot wary trout and ensure proper techniques and flies are being used.
Helicopter fly-outs are also an option. The property has a helicopter landing area.
In order to maintain a healthy fishery, we promote Catch and Release fishing. However, we understand the desire to have a trophy fish mounted. We can arrange mounting services through one of New Zealand’s most respected taxidermists, Ray Port.
